I love Halloween!
I obviously don’t like the copious amount of teenagers that use it as an excuse to vandalize and terrorise, but I adore the dressing up traditions my friends and I have every year and the cute little pumpkins and tiny witches knocking on the door for sweet treats!
I also love the fact my birthday usually falls on Halloween weekend (2nd November), which means I always have plans to dress up and have a good time!
This weekend is going to be jam-packed full of fun, and thank goodness it will be! I am going to need it after today, you see, my Daddio and I have worked together for over 4 and a half years, and he is being made redundant today to move onto a new role elsewhere. 😦
Working so close to him for this long has been wonderful, but I hadn’t realised how much it meant to me until yesterday, I couldn’t stop the tears flowing at the mention of him going!
I am going to miss all that we have shared here together, as we live quite a way from each other (me in Cheltenham, Dad in Ross on Wye) it isn’t going to be so easy to just hang out as often. To have our own little world that we shared was special, even if it was just work!
My brother shares football with my Dad, always has done, always will do, but work and our 5 days a week here were my domain. Even though we also share the creative gene, the best air guitar moves and a love for rock music, those things are harder to share from a distance!
So you get the idea, I am feeling a little bit emotional so the distraction of seeing awesome friends tonight and over the weekend is MUCH needed ❤
Tonight I will be dressing as Maleficent while we join a big group of friends out in Cheltenham, and oh GOSH I cannot wait to put the outfit together! I have made my own horns out of duct tape and foil, and I am so proud of my efforts! Really proud! 😀
Saturday I will be at a second Halloween party, this time a spooky house party at a friends cottage in the middle of nowhere in the Forest of Dean, dressing as the Cheshire Cat, and Dan as the White Rabbit! I will be sure to post photos of the weekend some point next week!
As you can see from the gallery I have added below, I LOVE to dress up, and I am blessed to have a group of friends who go all out for fancy dress too! Can you spot the difference in the top 2 images?
